The 2026 Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Thank you to all the members who attended.
We have a new name: Redstone Area Lakes Association
The biggest news of the meeting: members approved the special resolution to change the name of the association from the Redstone Lake Cottagers Association (RLCA) to the Redstone Area Lakes Association (RALA).
The change follows a survey circulated to the membership on June 19, 2026. Of 299 members, 159 voted (53%): 97 votes (61%) favoured a new name, with 62 votes (39%) preferring no change. Among the proposed names, "Redstone Area Lakes Association" was the clear favourite with 76% of new-name votes, ahead of "Redstone Watershed Association" (22%) and "Redstone Watershed Lakes Association" (2%).
The board has been authorized to take the steps needed to make the change official, including the required corporate filings. Our email addresses and website will continue to work throughout the transition.

Membership & finances
As of December 31, 2025, the association had 342 members in good standing across the seven lakes — 51% of the 674 potential member properties. 2025 revenue was $12,381.73 against expenses of $9,282.63, with the largest expense items being association fees, insurance for board and volunteers, and donations to community organizations.
Donations for 2026 were approved in support of the Haliburton Highlands Outdoor Association Fish Hatchery ($500), Haliburton Highlands Health Services ($500), Water Watchers ($500), SIRCH Community Services ($500) and The Drop Zone ($250).
