Dysart et al. – By-laws

The Municipal Law Enforcement Officer has a variety of responsibilities including the enforcement of parking, animal control, noise complaints, property standards, lottery licences, signage, and water testing for municipally-owned buildings.  Other by-laws which impose regulations on the general public are also enforced.

Filing a Complaint: 

All complaints under a by-law must be submitted to the By-Law Department in writing, either hard copy (PO Box 389, Haliburton, Ontario K0M 1S0) or via email with the complainant’s contact information, nature of the alleged complaint, and return contact information if the complainant requests a response.  All personal information is collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. 

Noise By-law: 

The Municipal By-law Department is responsible for enforcing the Municipal Noise By-law.  For further information regarding the Noise By-law, please click here. For noise complaints outside of normal working hours, contact the O.P.P., if necessary. 

Firework Regulations: 

The Municipality regulates the dates and permitted times for the setting off of Consumer Fireworks within Dysart et al.  Fireworks are permitted on New Year’s Eve and the weekends of Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday and the Labour Day Holiday.
